Village Tavern: Classic American Dining at Bonifacio High Street
Wooden interior with leatherette seats, large wall painting plus a glass-display of their best wines available.
WHEN IN MANILA, enjoy classic American food at Village Tavern (Bonifacio High Street Central). Expect delectable dishes and a cozy ambiance when dining at this wonderful restaurant from The Bistro Group.
Fully-Loaded Sweet Potato Skins (Php 240)
The roasted sweet potato skins were such a wonderful sight and boy was I surprised when I finally tried it. The skins were roasted to a crisp, with a mixture of jalapeño, cream cheese, bacon and sweet potato filling. I just loved the fullness of flavors in every bite – sweet and salty and everything nice! YUM!!!
Fresh fruit juices without the extra calorie to relieve your thirst
Village Tavern’s Black Pizza (Php 395)
Village Tavern’s pizzas are made entirely from scratch so better order the pizza in advance. The hand-pulled squid ink dough is one of the softest I’ve had. The thyme and rosemary herbs that were added to the mixture made the dough oh so tasty even without the toppings of 3 kinds cheeses, pepperoni, mushrooms and bell peppers.
Texas Baby Back Ribs
If you’re feeling in the mood for a classic American barbecue, Village Tavern offers Texas-style baby back ribs glazed with their special cola and chipotle sauce. It also comes with a side of fresh garden salad that helps neutralize the strong country flavor.
Village Tavern’s Monterey Chicken (Php 495)
Admittedly, I am not a chicken type of girl. I like meat – the masculine kind. But Village Tavern’s Monterey chicken is an exception. I have been converted for a day and fell truly, madly, deeply in love with this specialty dish. The grilled half chicken was topped with bechamel cheese sauce, applewood-smoked bacon and diced tomatoes partnered with a dessert-like chocolate black beans and yummy buttered rice pilaf. THIS IS A MUST TRY!!!
Village Tavern’s Double-Decker Cheesecake (Php 450)
Village Tavern’s cheesecake dessert is humongous! It is about 3/4 the height of my fork – no wonder the name is double-decker because aside from the layers of dark chocolate and traditional New York cheesecakes, it also reminds us of those double-deck buses that are towering in height.
WHEN IN MANILA, enjoy these delightful dishes and celebrate classic American food at Village Tavern.
